CfGRidcolumn w/ dropdown not working - html format

I have searched around, but can't figure out what went wrong here.  The grid works fine, but the dropdown doesn't.  (product_type)
<cfgrid format="html"  name="Dictionary" pagesize="10" selectmode="edit"
    bind="cfc:Dictionary.getDictionary({cfgridpage},{cfgridpagesize},{cfgridsortcolumn},{cfgridsortdirection}, getSearchString(), getSearchString2())"
    onchange="cfc:Dictionary.editDictionary({cfgridaction},{cfgridrow},{cfgridchanged})" >
     <cfgridcolumn name="product_idx" width="10" header="IDX" display="no"  />
     	   <cfgridcolumn name="product_code" width="60" header="Code" display="yes"  />
        <cfgridcolumn name="product_type" width="80" header="type"
          values="#ValueList(product_typex.product_type)#"  valuesdisplay="#ValueList(product_typex.product_type)#"/>
	<cfgridcolumn name="page_count" width="60" header="Page_count" />
		<cfgridcolumn name="packaging" width="60" header="packaging" />
		<cfgridcolumn name="additional_media" width="60" header="Media" />
        <cfgridcolumn name="notes" width="60" header="Notes" />

can  you be a bit more specific about "the dropdown doesn't [work]"?
where's your product_typex query? in the same page as the grid or in the cfc the grid is bound to?

There is a hot fix from Adobe ColdFuxion 8.0.1 that resolved it:

"HTML grids may display improperly in ColdFusion 8.0.1 with drop-downs not displaying all items (ID 71630)."
