Getting a VB Run Time Error '5' on MS-Word 2003 startup - what's up with that?

Alll of a sudden Word 2003 starts up with a Microsoft Visual Basic Run-time error '5'.
I saw somewhere that the normal.dot file might have been corrupted.  I decided to uninstall Word 2003 from the suite, reboot ,then re-install, which I did, but the same message comes up after the reinstall.  I'm scratching my head on this one--any good resolutions???

The code will be in the Normal.dot, a global template or an add-in.
Re-installing does not cause the Normal.dot to be recreated. If you delete it (or rename it), Word will create a new one when it restarts.
If the problem persists, check for add-ins or templates by checking Tools>Templates and Add-ins.
