Toshiba M70-FE5 Keyboard problems

Ive had this thing about 4 years now and lately its been giving me some keystroke errors in the F,G,H keys area.
Sometimes the key press takes the cursor to a random area in the text Im typing , sometimes it highlights it then erases it if I press another key and some other erratic behaviour.
I found a site on the net that details exactly how to remove and replace the key board for cleaning for this unit and Im not afraid to delve in there and try but before I do thought Id see it there were possible alternate solutions.
Are there drivers associated with the keyboard that may be corrupt?
Would reformatting and reinstalling Windows XP possibly solve the problem?

test first with an external keyboard.
this will show if the problems come from the keyboard or not
or test your keyboard from a live cd :

Blowing out the keyboard seems to have solved the problem. Such a simple solution..:D
