Get Outlook (or other address book program) to read address book of mac user

I use an Xserve setup for all of my mac users however some folks want to use their windows machines.  When a use logs on on a mac all of their address book contents come with them.  Is there a similar way to do that on the windows side without microsoft exchange?

In Outlook or Outlook Express, you can add your LDAP(in your case OD) directory for lookups for contacts...See the screenshot below
