How to use JSP to search through an access database?

I am currently writing a JSP to search through results in the description field in my database; however the query SELECT * FROM PRODUCT WHERE [desc] LIKE '*blue*'; isn't working. However, the query SELECT * FROM PRODUCT works just fine? Did I do something wrong? Also, the first query works just fine in Access sql query design.

I think the jdbc driver (could be wrong though) does not support the * as a wildcard character.

Did you try changing the '*blue*' to '%blue%' instead?
