How to save all my ACER drivers before reformatting and reinstall XP ?

I have a notebook Acer Aspire 5580. I don't have the driver files with me because this notebook was given to me from my friend as a gift. I only have my XP CD. I did reformatting before and it tooks me a while to find the right drivers from internet. Now I am doing it again, but I lost the driver program.

Is there anyway that I can copy current setup before I proceed reformatting and reinstallation ?

Hi KG1973,

You can try DriverScanner 2009, or Driver Magician.
Here's the links: http://www.liutilities.com/products/driverscanner/

You could do worse than download everything from here:
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5580.html
Before you wipe and reinstall.

skywalker39,
I already downloaded the software and manage to backup all the drivers. But if I reformat the harddisk and reisntall them, do i need to install driver magic again to restore ? Just to double confirm.

Others, thanks, but my question more on how to backup my current drivers, not to find the drivers, redownload and reinstall. I'd done that before, but really take my time to test one by one because it mix with others as well and also its confusing too. I only do this if there is no option.

You'll need to backup your drivers using Driver Magician, then backup the folders created by Driver Magican, once you reinstall XP copy the folders back then reinstall the drivers with Driver Magician, however this would be the same idea with what ever program you used to backup your drivers.

I am using Driver Magician Lite 3.5, but I didn't see any option to restore the backup.
Am I using the right one ?

You can't restore drivers using Driver Magician Lite 3.5, you can back them up but you can't restore them. To restore them, you'll need to use Driver Magician, not Driver Magician Lite. Here's the difference between the others: http://www.drivermagician.com/Lite.htm
