Hi,

I have SQL 2005 standard edition installed with SP2 that has been running for a while.
I am trying to install Reporting Services on top but it keeps failing because it complains that the versions do not match.

I believe that's because the install image I use does not have SP2. I cannot get one with SP2.

Is there any work around?

Thanks

Prepare for your VMware VCP6-DCV exam.

I had this scenario. Ran from the cd once and it complained but installed some scripts and would not continue as per your situation.
When i ran install media the second time immediatley after it worked fine; I believe it used scripts installed on previous install which matched the install media. I then service packed RS to bring in line with objects updated with service pack already.

Detect the version of reporting services:

If you cant get it to install at all(I guess you have IIS up and running on the server) then I cant think of anything short of taking backups on your databases and uninstall SQL server.
Then reinstall and add ssrs, then apply service packs.

This 'should' work but there should be a bettre solution, sorry I have not found it for you though.
