AD & exchange restoration

hi all, i will take a ad backup using windows 2003 ntbackup utillity & restore it on a new hardware. but after os instalation i will restore the ad backup & then try to install exchange 2007
but exchange.exe will not run, even i tried to run setup.com /m:recoverserver to recover my exchange on new hardware but it gives exchange server encountered an unknown error. i think this is all because of the presense of exchange in ad, can anybody have solution how to remove exchange attributes or the presense of exchange from ad so i can run or reinstall exchange & restore my data.

Ok since you are using 2007 try this.

Performing Microsoft Exchange Server Prerequisite Check

Organization Checks ......................... COMPLETED

Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server

Organization Preparation ......................... FAILED
The well-known object entry B:32:A7D2016C83F003458132789EEB127B84:CN=Exchange Servers\0ADEL:55aededc-b582-4141-92c9-b8a9fa3957e1,CN=Deleted Objects,DC=hartbc,DC=be of the otherWellKnownObjects attribute on container object CN=Configuration,DC=hartbc,DC=be points to an invalid DN or a deleted object. Please remove the entry and rerun the task.

Solutions (Remove Exchange 2007 from AD (manually))
1launching adsiedit.msc (part of the support tools) and going to the Configuration partion and bringng up the properties for Configuration,DC=domain,DC=com , edited the "othereWellKnownObjects" attribute to be "not set" (which it should be) by leaving it blank and clicking "add" (adding nothing) than applying the changes and re-running setup.
2if failed again, open CN=Services,delete CN=Microsoft Exchange,   Open CN=Extended-rights,Delete CN=ms-Exch-*

then,run setup  /ps  setup /p [/on:<>]  setup /preparealldomains again.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.
