We user ArcServe for backups. ArcServe is currently backing up the NTFS permissions for the shares on the file server. Would it be possible for ArcServe to be able to backup also the SHARING permissions and the NTFS? If not what would it be the best strategy to follow in case the the file shares need to be restored?

Yes, arcserve does backup share permissions, you need to make sure you backup registry separately so that you can restore share permissions.

to enable registry backup apart from system state which has registry, click on view and preference and check show registry and then perform backup

to restore the share permissions follow below document

I have been searching but no luck at all. ArcServe is only used in one of the servers all the others have Tivoli on it.
