How do I change the date taken property of some of my photos?

My camera malfunctioned and I have several dozen photos that think they were taken years ago when in fact they weretaken pretty recently. So they comeout in the wrong place in digital album.
Is there any quick way to reset date-taken on digital photos in batches/bulk.
I have Adobe Photoshop starter editon 3.2, if that is relevant...
Many thanks.

Peborgh,

You might try PhotoMe (http://www.photome.de/), which is pretty easy to use and free. There are plenty of other programs out there as well, if that doesn't work well for you, let me know and I can make another recommendation.

Thanks.

Very impressive but unfortunately I can't see where I could change the date-taken of multiple photos within a folder.

I haven't used it, but try ExitEditor (http://www.kiwiczech.net/index.php?menu=353&sub=4). Otherwise, most of the batch edit programs I know of are not free. Exifer is still around (you can Google it), but has not been updated since 2002 and may not support all of the expansion to EXIF data since then.

are you running mac:
http://www.publicspace.net/ABetterFinderRename/
you can do 10 at a time w/o a license. ( unless they've changed it)

Otherwise do a google for batch rename, or file rename to
find a cheap one for pc (or free)

Normally you can batch in photoshop. Not sure about your version, but check under
file > automate > batch

You will change the file name there.

If you had CS3, you could use Bridge to batch the file names or keywords in the file info.

lherrou got me in the right place to find something that worked, although not the one he recommended.
