Update fails to install BITS 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773)

I have had to reinstall windows xp. After reinstall I have tried to update and have not been able to update as I continuous get the same error message "Update fails to install BITS 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773)".

I've tried all 10 solutions, and still doesn't work.  Still recieve same msg that Update fails to install BITS 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773)

try running this command:

regsvr32 wups2.dll

and reboot and try again.

Also, can you send us C:\windows\windowsupdate.log?

Sorry for stepping away, but getting late on my side of the globe.

Computrex - I've tried resolution as well as workarounds that were noted in your support link, and still same error.  When I tried to download the hotfix package, I could not complete the download as I needed to first have service pack 1 installed, which I cannot due because of the original issue with BITS and WINhttp.  

I've enclosed log for your review.
Really appreciate any assistance.

It might have something to do with a firewall that you're using.

I gave up!!
Tried all points mentioned all the way up and nothing worked.

Made a decision to do a clean restart, and im about 3 hours into it.
