Some geometry & trees missing from AccuRender Walkabout Window and Renders

I seem to have hit a problem with AccuRender 4.0 and AutoCAD 2007.

Some of the geometry seems to be missing occasionally from the walkabout window, I have a set of curved stairs on a model and they keep disappearing although I can see them in AutoCAD, just not in AccuRender, needless to say, they do not render either if they do not appear in the walkabout window.

I tried inserting some trees the other day, although they appeared in AutoCAD, they were missing in the walkabout view and did not render either.

I have tried reloading and auditing the drawing, no errors are detected.  I am at a bit of a loss here.

The only other suggestion I have found is to update to the latest nVidia drivers.

2GB Corsair Platinum Dual Channel RAM in dual channel mode
AMD Athlon 64 3800+
Geforce 6800 GT
MSI K8N neo2 motherboard
Western Digital 500GB HDD
Windows XP Home SP3

I believe the nVidia Drivers are out of date however.

Any help appreciated, thanks

I'd recommend contacting Robert McNeel & Associates. They're pretty good about supporting their products but i don't know if they'll support something running as far bac as AutoCAD 2007.

Sometimes you might need to either upgrade the software or dwongrade the drivers. Not that the older software doesn't do everything you need/want it to already, but because it just isn't compatable with the newer hardware and operating systems.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried upgrading the drivers and it didn't seem to have an effect, I didnt think of downgrading them though. Anyway, I dropped a line to McNeel & Assoc.  They got back to me with the following:

"Unfortunately this is a bug in Service Release 3 of Accurender 4, blocks won't show up in AutoCAD 2007. At the moment, the quickest fix to this problem is to roll back to Service Release 2 of AccuRender. To do this you need to uninstall AccuRender 4 and install it again with Service Release 2."

...Sounds like this may fix it so I'll give it a try and get back to you!

Okay, I have done what McNeel Assoc. said, I have uninstalled Accurender, then reinstalled the program and applied Service Release 2 and everything works correctly now.  Apparently there is a known bug with Accurender 4.0 SR3 and AutoCAD 2007, something to do with a program change made to make Accurender compatible with AutoCAD 2008.  Downgrading to SR2 resolves the issue.

In summary, if you have AutoCAD 2007 and install Accurender, apply Service Release 2 only, do not upgrade to Service release 3 otherwise you will encounter missing geometry, lights and trees.

Thanks for your suggestion darrenmcwi.
