Freewase version of PC Anywhere type of product

Greetings,

I use to use PC Anywhere years ago to control my computers remotely.  Especially inside of my LAN.  Is there a freeware version that I could use ?  I don't want to need another person on the other computer like Net Meeting requires you to do.

Have you looked at the in-built Remote Desktop solution?

Are you planning to run this over the Internet or is it for use on a local network?

PS:  Which version of Windows are you running?
Check out TighhtVNC: http://www.tightvnc.com/

It is derived of UltraVNC: http://www.uvnc.com/

We use logmein ignition combined with logmein free on each server and user workstation.  Ignition allows me to bring up a control panel on my workstation and point and click to login to each server or workstation.  I highly recommend it.  We are also planning on getting logmein ignition iPhone edition that will allow the same functions on your iPhone!  control and fix stuff on the go!

Logmein looks great for remotly accessing a computer over the internet.  The free version doesn't let me drag and drop files on my remote computer.  Is there a freeware version that can do this ?  Maybe an FTP program ?  I can sort of do this now by dragging a file on to my web server and then downloading it via ftp from my web site but it's a little combersome.
I have previously used radmin which includes file transfer etc.

http://www.radmin.com/

it is not free though, but quite a good price and it includes all future upgrades.

Bloxsom,

would you be kind enough to explain why recommending TightVNC was a valid solution when suggested by cracksalsa while it was not when I suggested it a couple of posts earlier?

Yikes !  I completely messed up on that.  I meant to assign you the points.  Sorry !
Ok, that's fine then with me.

I'm not after a couple of points, I just wanted to find out why I was being ignored.
