Outlook 2007

I have outlook 2007 and my OS is Windows XP Prof.  I connect to the internet using a verizon DSL modem.  I also use MSN email and because of this I was advised by Microsoft support to install an Add in that would facilitate the downloading of msn emails to my outlook.  But of late Oulook has been crashing and whenever I load I get a message that the data file did not close properly and it is repairing.......
And sometimes it takes for ever while sometimes it load soon after.
Why is outlook doing this and is there any updates that i should be installing in order to make it more stable? thanks.

Check you have SP1 installed:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=9EC51594-992C-4165-A997-25DA01F388F5&displaylang=en

Also check for the Adobe 6 or SnagIt Add-In and siable it, as this is a known issue with it:

Disable add-ins. If you have Adobe Acrobat 6 installed, disable it's add-in first. SnagIt's addin will also crash Outlook. If Outlook crashes when you attempt to disable the addins, you'll need to edit the registry. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins and change the load behavior for Acrobat, SnagIt or other non-Microsoft add-ins to 0.

I think there is a mix and match of 2003 and 2007.  Will resolve this. Thanks.
