update current record on a form.

I have a form with data displayed in the detail section of the form, it is a contuinious form.  The record source for the form is a table, I have a command button in the detail section so I can make a change to the individual records by clicking on the button and it opens a second form where I can edit the records and then save the data back to the table this all works correctly. I close and reopen the form to refresh the data.  I have a field that has the last record number in it.  I know how to move to the record with a button but it won't work I get 2015 runtime error You can't go to the specified record.
Is this because it is bound to a table?
Once I get this resolved, what action do could I use to move their during the form re-opening?

Thank you experts

You know you could do a me.refresh on the form.  Place that on the on Got Focus event this will refresh the form and show your updates.
