How to create an email signup form on my website.

I want to put a form on it where people type in their name and email address and submit the info. Then I automatically get an email with their info. so I can send them my newsletters. How to I do this? I'm using Dreamweaver 8 to edit my site.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys. I actually found a very good solution to my problem. I use Constant Contact to send out my newsletters, and I learned they had a contact form I could put on my website. It was very simple to insert and works very well.

But you guys gave me good suggestions too. If I can figure out how to do it, I will split points between the two of you.

Thanks again!

What you are asking for is a form.  The user submits a form and then you need something to process that form.

I have used successfully for form processing but I must warn you, if you don't have a lot of experience with HTML and forms, it might be a bit difficult.

There are forums on the site above that will help you with any issues so if you can follow instructions well, then this should work very well for you.

Good luck
A form is correct.  You can create a form easily with Dreamweaver 8.  Just view the help documentation.  However, you need a way to process that for.  This depends largely on preference but it also depends on your host.  My host uses the Apache server so I use PHP to process my forms.  First, find out what server language your host supports, typically they are either Microsoft or Linux.  Microsoft uses ASP and Linux can use PHP.  There are others as well.  Once you know what your host will support, go to and look in the forms section of your language.  You will find tons of free scripts that you can use to accomplish your needs.
