SQL 2000 Enterprise replication to SQL 2000 STANDARD

Hi,
We have a server running SQL 2000 Enterprise for approx 200 users. We would like to replicate the server but don't want to have to buy Enterprise.

My question is: Can you replicate from SQL 2000 Enterprise to SQL 2000 STANDARD considering the users. ( we will be buying standard 2005 and using downgrade rights. )

Thanks

What you mean with replicating databases?
It's SQL Server native replication or moving databases from one server to another?
You can do both, just remember that Standard Edition don't have all features from Enterprise Edition. For example Standard Edition are limited to 4 CPU and 2GB RAM.

Good luck

Thanks for the input tbsgadi but the article discusses different version ie 2000 with 2008 etc but I am discussing same version.

Vmontelvao we want to create replication (copy) to a hosted SQL server off-site for fault tolerance. I will consider what you've said and find an article describing further differences.
