Need a Ghost script or options for re-imaging from a dvd

Hello Experts,

I have managed to make a bootable DvD that will load my ghost image automatically and start the re-imaging process. My problem that i have come into, is about half way, it will ask to insert another file for my image. I've serached the net and many people are saying to use a scipt file that will automatically point to my spanned images. I have yet to find information on what to put in this text file.

Any help or a sample of the text file would be very helpfull

thanks

First of all I's tried to use the following command while taking image to avoid spanning (it will be a single image file).

Hope it helps

ghost -split=0

Unfortunatly i cannot use this method. My Image file will be 5.8GB and this cannot fit on the DvD with the  current file system This is why i have opted towards the spanning of my image.

Could you post the exact commands you are using for your "DVD cloning"?
Thanks

I've tried the following:

ghost -clone,mode=pload,scr=x:\cf30.gho:1,dst=1:1 -auto -fx -sure -batch

ghost -clone,mode=restore,src=x:\cf30.gho,dst=1 -sure -batch
ghost -clone,mode=load,src=x:\cf30.gho,dst=1 -sure -batch
ghost -clone,mode=pload,src=x:\cf30.gho,dst=1 -sure -batch

the last three just goes back to a DOS prompt with error abort 651: Unable to locate next span, when the imaging reaches to about 25%

Try this one:  ghost -clone,mode=pload,src=x:\cf30.gho:1,dst=1:1
Let me know if it helps.

Otherwise, check out if x: is included into the path.

ran that command, reaches to 25 %, it then ask me to specify the location of the next spanned volume.

Whare ghost is located? How do you launch ghost - from command prompt or from the script?

I found another article regarding the error: http://service1.symantec.com/support/on-technology.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/961966877643e22aca257519001f6dd4?OpenDocument

What is your version of Ghost? Is it possible to upgrade it to the letest version?

Fortesting, i'm launching ghost from the root of the dvd, my images are also sitting in the root of the DvD. Once i find the proper command, i will add it to a autoexec.bat file.

I will also have a look at the link you provided. thank you for your help so far

I've tried what you have asked and it still comes up asking for the second part of the span file.

I found the problem and i feel very noobish at this point. My spanning files where reneamed to cf30001.ghs. I added another "0" to the file which now reads cf300001.ghs and it went through flawlessly. Thanks for all your help in this matter

Sound strange. If your main file name cd30.gho then span name is to be cf30001.ghs
Anyway, I am glad you managed to sort it out.

Cheers
Igor
