After some server problems the other day, a number of my clients are getting an error trying to open or save anything to thier redireccted My Documents folder.  The error, (0x800710fe) is a known issue and the resuloution is reinitializing the client side cache following directions in this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/230738.  The problem is that I create the registry key as directed and nothing happens.  I reboot the machine and log in as the user and nothing, no sync, and the registry key which should be deleted is still there.  Any ideas as to what I could be missing?

I've had similar issues and the only way I've been able to resolve this was to do the following:

1. Open Windows Explorer
2. Go to Tools --> Folder Options --> Offline files
3. Deselect  "enable offline files"
4. Reboot and delete the c:\windows\csc folder
5. Re-enable offline files

Unfortunately, you'll need to fully resync your offline folders again but at least it will be fresh.

Thanks for the responses.  The solution was to fail the cluster back to original node.
