I am currently trying to push an image down to an AcerPower Series S285. I am using Acronis Snap Deploy. I have tried sata and ide hard drives. The error message i keep getting is:

kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unkown-block(1,0)

The hard drives are new but the machine itself is not.

Is the Acronis client on the clients machine the same version as you are using and have you update your Acronis Snap and Acronis Image "echo" Workstation.

    Accepted Solution

i use a boot up disc that was created by the version of Acronis that is currently on the server i am using to try to push the image to the ACER.

i don't have a version of acronis on the ACER i've always just used the boot disc.

Try installing the client. it seems to interface with the nic better.

IMHO it is Linux problem and the CD is based on Linux. Linux version cannot detect your HDD controller and thus express these errors. You need to use Live CD with Bart PE plugin to make it see your drives.
