.NET Certifications

Hi,
i am planning to take a .NET certification (decided to take web based). I came to know there is MCPD certification for developers. I started looking into microsoft site for further information but I was not able to make a list of certifications or pre-requisites so I can take my step towards completing them. I have not taken any certifications before and also please let me know if it is possible to take .NET 3.5 without completing 2.0 ? Any clarifications are appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is possible to  become MCPD: ASP.NET Developer 3.5  without completing  MCPD which belongs .net 2.0, but

For becoming MCPD: ASP.net Developer 3.5 you have to pass total Three exams which are given  below:

MCPD =  MCTS: .net frame work 3.5  ( i.e. passing two exams) + One Additional exam

1.  MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, ASP.NET Applications (Exam 70-536 and Exam 70-562)
                                                                                +
2. Exam 70-564: (PRO: Designing and Developing ASP.NET Applications Using Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 )
