HP Laserjet 4050 print to different trays
I had to reload a laptop and need to re-configure the printer. It is a LaserJet 4050T. It has Tray 3 installed, which is legal size plain paper. Tray 2 is letter size plain paper.
I need the printer auto select whether to print from trays 2 or 3 depending on the document being printed (legal or letter). Any help would be great.

Is this a network printer or is it connected directly to the PC?
ASKER
It is connected to directly to a pc and is not shared on the network.
If you follow the first comment then it should work. Setting the paper source and media should fix your problem, also check in the advanced tab for these settings, just in case.

Tried to print a legal document and it still tries to print to Tray 1 manual feed.

I know, though legal didn't seem to be an option. Plus the printer has always worked, until I had to reload the OS.

Also, looking under the device settings for the printer, how should each tray be setup? Currently:
Auto Select - Letter
Tray 1 - Letter
Tray 2 - Letter
Tray 3 - Unavailable
(which matches another printer in the office)
I am at a loss.
