bogus CNAME and IP address  in DNS

I try to ping  a server in tthe forest which should return the IP address of and a FQN of  Well here is what  I get for an IP address: and FQN of smdccs.  This tells me there is a bogus CNAME and IP address in the CONUS DNS.

I would appreciate any ideas that will help solve this.

    Do you have access to the servers that provide the authoritative answer for that name? If so, check the record on there and see what it's set to.
