Video scramble at boot up only
We have a Belkin Omniview Pro2 (F1DA116T) switch and are having problems with the video. I know it's not the driver, the monitor, the video card but think it's in the switch. The video is scrambled only at bootup. I've tried another cable, another monitor, booting in safemode (same problem there), connecting one of the 10 computers connected to it away from the kvm and it's boots up fine.  All 10 computers do the same thing (video scrambled at boot up only). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi MonaClark.. Sounds like a loss of sync problem with either your monitor or the KVM switch itself - you've swapped out the monitor so? The reviews of this unit are generally good, suggesting that there's not much to go wrong.. You might try yet another monitor, perhaps a CRT this time, just to see what happens.. If all else fails, contact Belkin and see what they suggest..

Thanks, vertsyeux. Hmmm, not sure I can find a CRT on campus. I've tried several monitors (LCDs) and I have contacted Belkin. Wanted to see what you guys had to say. The strange thing is the "scrambleness" is only on bootup so I thought the experts might have some suggestions.

A switch is a device that filters and forwards packets of data between LAN segments. Switches operate at the data link layer or the network layer of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model and therefore support any packet protocol. LANs that use switches to join segments are called switched LANs or, in the case of Ethernet networks, switched Ethernet LANs. A hub is a connection point for devices in a network. Hubs are commonly used to connect segments of a LAN. A hub contains multiple ports; when a packet arrives at one port, it is copied to the other ports so that all segments of the LAN can see all packets.
