EEC PC - Adding a shortcut to the normal icon screen

I have installed an application on my Linux EEE PC 701 that I can run the application from a shell.

How do I an add an icon on the standard desktop to allow me to run the application by clicking it.

    If you are still using easy mode and want to add an icon check out :

    Otherwise if you are using something else let me know or just check out and use the menu on the right side of the page.
