I don't understand the peer-to-peer comment. QuickBooks 2007 (US Version I assume) is likely the Client Server version (tell me if no). So you need to install the server application on the Server, and locate the ledger on the same physical driver as the QB server application. Point the server application to the ledger and then connect QB to that ledger. Turn on hosted access. Done like that, it should print reasonably well. Transactions are quite fast in the client server model. Reports can be slow, but once the data has come up, printing is quite fast. Also, if QB has been running for a while, see if there is a transaction log and if it has gotten too big (>100Mb). That can slow down QuickBooks. ... Thinkpads_User

quickbooks 2007 it is running with a server with os win 2003, i did not set up active directory, i shared de data file and it's running peer to peer.
That may be your problem. QB2007 has a server install and that should be done. It is not an active directory issue. Install the server component, run it, and browse for the data file.

but i already install quickbooks 2007 server version in the server , and  i shared the data base file peer to peer.
and the hosting user mode is on
If you installed the server application as you said, then (a) turn off hosted mode on QuickBooks on the 3 workstations, make sure you browse to the ledger with the server application, and then do a fresh open at the workstation (open QB, close any active file, then use the open button to navigate to the ledger on the server.

If, after doing all this, it takes forever to print a few cheques, then there may be something else going on besides QuickBooks. Make sure also your QB transaction log is not big.

i notice that the data file is 700 mb too big i guess that the issue, can i compress this file any way??
700 Mb is very big, and that is part of your problem. However, the new Client Server version is more transaction oriented and cheques are transactions (unlike lenghty reports), so I wonder if there are other issues that we have not thought of. Have you tried rebuilding the file? Never, never rebuild a file over the network. Copy it down to a workstation first. That may compress it a bit.   ... Thinkpads_User
