Firefox crashes every time I close Gmail

Every time I close or navigate away from GMail, it crashes. Sometimes there is and error, sometimes there isn't. I tried uninstalling Firefox completely; I even checked the box that makes the uninstaller remove customizations and everything. I did notice, though, that my Roboform toolbar is still there when I reinstall Firefox, without me adding it. I have also tried running Firefox in Safe Mode. The problem still happens.

Hello cowboygeek,

1. Check if an addon is interfering.  Go to Tools > Addons and disable the addons. Click OK.

If Firefox does not open, go to Start > Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)

2. Check if a program running in the background is interfering. Disable firewall, antivirus, antispyware, spam blocker, and desktop programs.

3. Clear your cookies and cache files. Go to Tools > Options > Privacy tab. Under Private Data, click "Clear Now" button.  Click OK.

4. If no joy, your profile is corrupt. Create a new Firefox profile

Then migrate your settings to new profile

5. Run Firefox Standard Diagnostics

6. If no joy, back up your bookmarks.  Uninstall Firefox and delete your Firefox profile files.  Then do a clean install of Firefox.

I actually started doing this before your reply, but the reply confirmed that what I was doing was correct. One thing I did that wasn't in your post was to delete the remaining Firefox program files, as well as the Profile files in my AppData Folder. After deleting everything and reinstalling, the problem was fixed. Thanks!
