Hi Experts,

I'm looking to create a loyalty card scheme, but I'm not sure what the best kind of smart card reader to use would be, I want to be able to connect the reader to a database, MS SQL 2005 or MS Access, any real world suggestions would be appreciated, perhaps some links to products etc.

Use ZK products... it is the now smart card reader provider in the world...

I've been using it for a year now and it is great...

    Hi JosephGermanOcena,

Thanks for the link, but ZKSoftware is geared toward security and biometrics, I'm looking for a really simple reader where I can use IC smart cards for a customer loyalty programme.

OK, so I've decided to use the ACS ACR38 smart card reader, it is PC/SC compatible, and also comes with VB.NET samples bundled in the SDK.

Though I would rather develop a generic application which would work with any PC/SC compatible reader.
