System Center Essentials virtual server, host server can not detect updates

Hello all,

I have a Windows 2008 host server with a 2008 virtual server running SCE for the domain.

The entire domain is able to contact and get updates from the SCE server with no issues except for the HOST server in which the SCE server runs.

I suspect it has something to do with DNS or SSL because the HOST is trying to contact the SCE server which is really itself on a dirrferent NIC card but I can not seem  to track this one down.

The error on the host machine is 0x80072f8f....

Any suggestions???

In the virtual network properties, make sure that "Allow management OS to share this network adapater" right under your physical NIC's name.

Is ping working from host to SCE guest?

Thanks ashkwin....  That was not the answer but you were close.

It was a network issue.  To fix the issue I has to enable V-LAN tagging for the virtual network connection.   I guess this is was because the virtual networks routre table could not route  to the host os properly without the VLAN enabled.

Question has a verified solution.
