no security tab on windows folder

I have a win 2000 server. on one of the drives their are some folders and sub folders. On ONE of the subfolders there is NO security tab.  There is a general and sharing, but thats it.  All the other folders have all the tabs.  I am a local and domain admin.  I can take ownership of the upper level, but errors when it gets to this subfolder.  I can't take ownership of this subfolder as that's done within the security tab, which is the whole problem.
Thanks,
Glenn

i think thats an xp thing, not a 2000 option, plus I can see security on all the other folders.

Try taking ownership of the folder using Subinacl, e.g.
subinacl /file "c:\windows\problem folder" /setowner=yourusername

If you still get errors, run CHKDSK /F on the drive.  There may be some filesystem corruption.
