MySQL 4.1 to 5.0 compatibility

After I upgraded MySQL version 4.1 to 5.0 my Delphi application issued an error.

The data type changed from FloatField to String on all SQL statements which have SUM function in SELECT clause.

I could not find quick solutions to solve this problem, and I think the whole source code has to be revised and changed.

Is there another way? Can I say to MySQL 5.0 server act as a 4.1 server?

U can use cast or convert function and then do the sum...

    cast(id as int)
