When I click a Link to a .tif file it tries to open it in IE and not office document immaging

It used to ask me if I wanted to open ot or save it and if I said open it would open in office document immaging and not try to open it directly in IE  with a little red xed box

Save a tif file to the desktop.
Right click and select Open With > Choose Program
Select MS Document Imaging and check the box to 'always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
Click OK.

Try the link again.

I already did that. windows has the file association right but it is some setrting in IE I think. it will open one off the desktop just fine it is only when it is a link on a webpage
1>Right click the tiff file ,
2>open with,
3>choose program,Ms Document imaging
4>Select the program you want and check always use this program for this kind of file.

in windows it has the right file association. it is in IE where the problem is. I can click on one on my desktop and it open in MS off Document immaging. it doenst even ask me if I want to open or save the tiff when I click on it
