W2K8 Group policy manager Perferences Drive Maps limit to security group

Hi Guy.

Not sure if this is possible but someone out there may have a solution.

I have a logon script that maps drives and printers based on security groups. It only maps a drive if the users is a member of the security group. This is all working fine and I can use the w2k8 GP, scripts (logon/Logoff) to run this script without a problem.

What I would like to to is use the new feature of W2K8 DC to map drives via preferences. I have test this and it works. The issue I have is that you can not contol what drives are mapped by security group. Even if the folder is restricted to administrators it will still be mapped but the user will not have access. As this site has about 15 mapped drives I do not want to create a seperate GP for each Folder.

windows 2008 DC in Windows 2003 Domain Native.

If anyone has any suggestion I would like to hear them.

Thanks in advance.

You can use Item level targeting (Common tab) to apply the drive mapping based on security group memberships.
