Mixed Exchange 03/07 with Edge Transport routing

I have an exchange 2007 edge transport server that is currently a bridgehead for an exchange 2003 mailbox server.
I just brought up an exchange 2007 server with mailbox, client access, and hub transport roles, to start my migration.

If I add an Edge Subscription between my Edge Transport and my backend 2007 mailbox server, will that cause routing issues for my users still on the exchange 2003 mailbox server?  Is there a better reccomended config?

Thank you!

I will suggest u to first complete install of hub-cas-mailbox.
Then, remove the bridge head of 2003 as edge.
then, subscribe the edge with hub on 2007.
So,all emails are routed outside using edge.

hmmm.. so my backend '03 mailbox connects to my backend '07 cas/hub/mailbox, and not the Edge Transport directly?
    thanks for clarifying
