Hi Folks,

I am running an SBS 2008 server.  I have created a few new mailboxes specifically for room bookings.  I only created the mailbox and did not create a full user account.  Well after the fact I found that you can create Room Mailboxes.  What I am wondering is can I move or convert the mailbox to a room mailbox?  I found some stuff but most of what I find is for moving from server to server.  This is all within the same server.  I thought of just dumping the data from each calendar into a PST file and then importing it back in.  But since i didn't create the user account I can't log in to Outlook under the mailbox with the data.  And I don't think I can log into Outlook with Room mailbox either to import the data.

Thanks,

I'm not sure what you mean by not creating a full user account for your mailbox, but in Exchange 2007 you can use the following command to change your user mailbox to a room mailbox.

Set-Mailbox "MailboxName" -Type Room

Once that is done, you can set the autoprocessing of meeting invitations by running this:

Set-MailboxCalendarSettings "MailboxName" -AutomateProcessing AutoAccept

If you grant yourself access to the mailbox, you can access it via Outlook Web Access and change additional options for the mailbox.  Alternatively, you can use get-mailboxcalendarsettings "MailboxName" | FL to see what options you can change.

Perfect, thank you so much.  What I meant by full user account, is I didn't create a user within AD with a mailbox.  I just created a user mailbox within Exchange.  But this works.  Thanks again.
