My company has an opening for AIA Consultant - AIA Oracle Fusion.

I think AIA stands for : Application Integration Architecture

Q1. What kind of role is performed by AIA consultants
Q2. Where does one get training for it?

I think more information could be get looking on Interner podcasts here:

In general your tactics should include to be close to E-Business-Suite of Oracle.
It is a big and well adopted product  with many customers and very good future.

    Accepted Solution

In my opinion, this is an Oracle specific job title, not an industry standard.

A more general term would be "System Integration" or "Enterprise Architecture" but that would not be specific, and probably why your company worded it as is, because it already has or plans on an investment in an Oracle specific solution.

So to get training, you could probably look to Oracle Education and need to learn Oracle technologies, but you'll need training on a large product portfolio, such as their Java development and app server products, and various components of Fusion Middleware, plus, you'd need a more generic background in application integration.

One thing that sounds like marketing speak is when Oracle uses terms like "hot-pluggable"; I have been hearing this since my IBM days, but I rarely see it work. Its a sales pitch to get IT managers to buy in to a product suite. Someone still has to integrate and write the glue.

I think you will benefit only if you get closer and learn General Ledger, Supply Chain and human Resources of E-Business-Suite. The technology you are asking for could survive, but also could be obsolete in some tears. It is risky - not common technology.
