Can anyone suggest any free/opensource (preferably web-based) SNMP monitors.

To explain my intentions. I want to setup a large screen (32'') in our IT department which we can instantly see which servers are down (ping?!), amount of traffic on switches, recent helpdesk tickets, errors on certain machines/servers. We use altiris so reports could be pulled from that at intervals and displayed on this screen (which is why I'm considering the web based console). Must be able to work in realtime.

I have used Cacti in the past: http://www.cacti.net/. It is free and works good.

I also want to point you to the following websites:

Thanks tempelman. That's exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. I will have a play and see what I can do with it. Thanks also for your references.

Just to follow up on this, I was maybe quick to award points. I ended up using a program called Nagios. Nagios is awesome and if you need something thats pretty easy (including OS install (I used Ubuntu without any hitch)) to install and setup to monitor everything, It's free and is Highly customisable, plus it can be intergrated into other software/websites etc. It can also be incorporated pretty deeply with Cacti.
