I am trying to install Office 2007 on a xp SP3 machine.<br />
I copy the install file from the network, or download it from MS, each with the same results.<br />
One bar ticks on the install progress and then it errors out with this message:<br />
&quot;Microsoft Office 2007 Standard encountered an error during setup&quot;<br />

The event view has this to say:<br />

Event id 11708<br />
<br />
That is it. There are no previous version of office showing as installed.<br />
