I can't figure out how to create a custom email template that opens as the default new mail message. For example: I'd like to have the bullets set as 123, indent increased two tabs in, and using blue text. I've tried saving as a .oft, creating a form, but can't figure out how to get the new mail message to default to specific tab and bullet formatting.

Since you are using 2003 what you can do is edit your Normal.dot (First back it up by making a copy say Normal.bak)

Then edit your Normal.dot to the format you would like.

Then save it.

Now go into Outlook, Tool>Options>Mail Format
And check, use MS Word 2003 to edit my messages.....

Now try it
