Hi,

I have recently find a solution to limit users session per connection.
Its a dll file which I have find it in RRAS official blog itself.
It sounds like there is a problem in the source and I cant get it to work.
Since I have no knowledge about Visual Studio 2005 and its my 1st time using it, I might have some mistake in compiling the source and make the DLL file and it could result in not working of my DLL file.

Anyways, here is the link: http://blogs.technet.com/rrasblog/archive/2007/12/20/steps-to-develop-a-ras-administration-dll-using-visual-studio.aspx

Also there is some more details in another blog post which is related to this issue from same blog and I am completely not understand it LOL.

Here is the link: http://blogs.technet.com/rrasblog/archive/2008/07/17/limit-one-connection-to-the-vpn-server-per-user.aspx

Now, When I finish all the steps (after 100 times checking and all goes well) and I get the DLL file and try to make it work as described in this link http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa377858(VS.85).aspx or any other way (regsvr32) I will get the error in attached picture.

Any Idea experts ?

Thank you.

First, you shouldn't invoke the regsvr32 from Run applet of the start menu. From there you have no chance to set the default folder properly. Better open a command window (dos box, e. g. by typing cmd from 'run') and change directory (cd ...) to the folder the dll resides. Then try again to call regsvr32.

Not all dlls need to be registered using regsvr32.exe. Only those which have an entry point (function) DllRegisterServer (respectivelly DllUnregisterServer). Some of the dlls which have these entry points nevertheless don't need to be registered using regsvr32 cause they do a self-registering when being called. If the latter they may not run from regsvr32 cause they need some other dlls or initializations which regsvr32 can not supply.

If you built the dll yourself you might check from the sources whether the registering/unregistering functions exist. If not, you simply may try to use the dll without registering it.

Hello,

As you can see in my screen shot, 1st of all I have done the way that blog said, by adding a registry key in regedit and bla ...

By the way, that was not the answer. I have contacted the blog poster and she was one of the official microsoft software managers. she told me that I have to check the Framework version and OS architecture to confirm that its compatible with my target OS which I want to use this dll on it.

Probably, this problem is not completely solved but its on the way of getting the right solution. I am still waiting for the final answer from the blog poster and I will describe the solution here. meanwhile if you found any solution for it, please share with us and of course get the points.

Thank you
