P3P Privacy Policy Blocking 3rd Party Cookies on IE6

Hi All,

I'm being driven to distraction, as I've trying to implement an affiliate solution for our e-commerce site (ASP driven), but due to restrictions on the e-commerce package, the affiliate software (PHP driven) cannot reside on the same domain/server - don't ask!

Due to this, there is some cross domain cookies in use for tracking, but it keeps getting blocked.

I've noticed on another question by webgeek154, who said the solution in PHP was:

header("p3p: policyref=\"\", CP=\"NOI DSP COR CURa ADMa DEVa TAIa OUR BUS IND UNI COM NAV INT\"");

I wondered if there was an equivalent in standard asp - not

I don't have admin access to either the webservers in question.

    Accepted Solution

    The code to add a header sting would be something like :

    <% Response.AddHeader "P3P","CP=""NOI DSP COR CURa ADMa DEVa TAIa OUR BUS IND UNI COM NAV INT"""  %>

    You need to put this up at the top of the page before any output is made to the page (or have page buffereing turned on)

    There are a couple of other files you need to create to be fully P3P complient (although these are not normally checked by the browser (yet))
    Google : P3P.XML and P3Policy.xml
