Slow shortcut response time with w2k3 server

Just migrated from Linux to W2k3 server and I am having a terrible time when I try and use any shortcuts from my XP clients.

Shortcuts take over 30 seconds to open the file, even when I click on an HTML link from within outlook (not using exchange) it takes over 30 seconds to bring up a page.

Open a file directly or entering an HTML link in the browser works fine.

Tried flushing the DNS cache.

Currently I am using my router as the DNS server also

Not sure where to look next.

    Accepted Solution

Configure your SBS server as the DNS server for your network
Then configure all workstations to point to server for DNS or run DHCP on server
