HP LaserJet 1200 Printing Problem w/Vista
Have HP Lasejet 1200 attached to my XP Home SP3 computer. Unable to map to the printer with my Vista laptop and print. How do I fix this. I have tried down loading Vista print drivers to my HP Home computer without any luck
To isolate whether it is a mapping problem or whether it is a driver problem, temporarily attach the printer to your Vista laptop and see if it will install and work properly. I do assume on the XP computer that you enabled Print Sharing, and I do assume you check the firewall settings on both computers to make sure each computer allows the other. ... Thinkpads_User

I have already attached the Printer to the Vista laptop and it printed fine. I am able to map may XP laptop to the XP Desktop and print just fine. I also have a HP 5550 printer attached to another XP Desktop and I am unable to map to that printer either with the Vista laptop. I am able to share files between the two computers so I am guessing that the firewall is not an issue.

I elected to get a wireless print server.
Glad that worked. My home print server works a treat. ... Thinkpads_User
