Hi there,

I have a customer that has 2 seperate installations of Sage Line 50 2007 I believe. 1 is used for sales, 1 is used for invoicing.

The one for invoicing doesnt have all the parts that are used in the Sales Order Processing on the sales one. Can they be merged?

Many thanks
Anthony

There is no built in way to do this with Sage "out of the box", however, there are several ways it can be done, using some third party products.

Are you trying to merge the two together as a "one off" process or is the plan to have one system doing the invoicing and the other doing everything else and keep the two updating each other?

I expect it can be done, however, you have to take some manual precautions, you can't have both systems trying to use the same invoice numbers for example.

I already have something similar a tool that transfers invoices from one system into another. See below

Its a one off merge (if possible) to keep the one that has been invoicing, and to merge in the sales one that has all the lines of stock listed.

Perhaps I have misunderstood the level of complexity required.

Do you want to merge the invoices, sales orders, product records and all the product transactions from the sales into the main company (assuming they do not have conflicting numbers). I assume that the sales invoices have been entered into the customer ledgers manually at this point?

or

Are you simply wanting to add all the product records from the sales company into the main company?

If the former then you will need external assistance to do the merge, however for the latter then it is perfectly possible to do this yourself by exporting the product records as CSV files in the Sales system and then importing the product records into the main system.

or

something else?

That should work fine.

There is a layout in the "Product Detail Reports" section of product reports called "Product Record CSV Extended" if you run this report and save to file (selecting CSV as the filetype) this will be in the correct format to import back into the other copy of Sage  File>Import>Product Records
