How do I ignore sites on Websense 7 reports?

Hi,

We use Websense 7 Web Security/Filter and wanted to know how to ignore Windows Updates/ www.google-analytics.com / McAfee Updates etc from the reports, as these skew the reports for browsing time.

Thanks.

You have 2 options:
1- Create a custom category, say call it "Updates", add the sites you do not want to show in reports to this category, then cancel logging for this categry.
2- Create a custom category, say call it "Updates", add the sites you do not want to show in reports to this category, then customize your reports so as not to show logs from this cat.

Thanks, for your reply... how do I cancel logging for a category?

Pease note that this will only affect future logging (after setup is done).
Open WS Manager Web Interface, click Settings, then logging.
Scroll down to the Category you do not want to log and remove the tick, click save and save all.

Despite its humble beginnings, phishing has come a long way since those first crudely constructed emails. Today, phishing sites can appear and disappear in the length of a coffee break, and it takes more than a little know-how to keep your clients secure.

If you do not see the cat list, then click on "Selective category Logging" button.

By the way, Firefox is much faster with WS then IE, but you have to use version 3.0.9 to work correctly.
