Are there any low-budget calendar applications that aren't primarily web-based, but still have a web-based interface available?

I want to be able to run the calendar on my home PC, without going through a web browser. Just a stand-alone software. However, I also want the ability to log into a website when I'm away from home, to access my calendar and add appointments from the website. Then the calendar at my home PC would need to sync up with the changes I made from the website. I'll always be connected to the internet at home, but I don't want to have to go to a website to run the program from my home PC.  Is there anything out there which does this? I know Outlook can do this, using "Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access" but I can't afford it.  This doesn't have to be freeware, but at least something relatively low-budget.

    Hello Tim86,

You can use Sunbird calendar at home,

and sync with Google Calendar on the road

    Hope this helps!

The article about sync'ing with Google Calendar said "Items added (or modified/deleted) to your Sunbird calendar will now automatically appear in your Google Calendar."  Will this also work in reverse?  In other words, when I add/modify an item in Google Calendar, will it automatically update in Sunbird?  I need it to go both ways.

    Accepted Solution

If syncing is set up between the two calendar, yes, it will go both ways.
