ASA 5510 failover and network redundancy

I have two Cisco ASA 5510 firewalls and they both have identical links to my LAN and  WAN. I have two LAN switches and each server has two links one connected to each LAN switch. My questions is if i configure the ASAs as an active/standby pair what would happen if the LAN switch that is plugged in to the active firewall fails? does that take the network down because if it does then all that does is make the switch my single point of failure instead of the firewall. Am I correct or is there something I am missing?

You got it correct. It depends on how your switches are setup. If they are also setup as failover, then you are fine. Otherwise, your network will be down.
