Free Easy Image Resizing / Cropping Software

Hi, i have designed numerous websites for clients who have very poor IT skills. Some of my website can resize and crop uploaded images however some of my cheaper low budget sites do not have this feature. Therefore i give my clients certain dimension for the images that they have to upload.

My clients do not have photoshop and i do not want to advise them to purchase it just for cropping and resizing images for their site SO this is where i need help.

I know there is millions of free (or state that they are free) applications that you can download from the net however i have no experience with any of them, and i am also aware that a lot of these programs have annoying pop ups etc.

I am looking for FREE imaging software:
- that is very easy to use (for an entry level IT user)
- that can resize and crop images (very easily)
- that is stable and does not annoy the user to buy an upgraded version

Please do not search google and then post the name of some software, i am looking for software that you have used and have experience with and that meets the requirements that i have listed above, thanks in advance

This software is very easy to use altough it is missing one main feature, you can not set the dimensions if the crop tool, you have to manually draw the area that you want to crop, i fi have a image that is 900x600 and i want to crop it to 800x600 - i have to manually try and draw 800x600 with the crop tool, is there any other way of achiveing this, thanks for the reply
Sure, it's pretty easy. Hit Shift+C or go to Edit -> Custom Crop selection. There's a menu of options.

when you create the custom crop selection, is it possible to move it around the image so that you can select the area you want to crop, thanks again for the reply
Yes, using the RIGHT mouse button. Also, if you hold down the CTRL key, you can adjust it and force a crop/resize, keeping the ratio you selected.
