jquery iphone like flick div

Hi all,

i want to create an iphone style animated div on a page. whereby the div itself is of set size with the text overflowing and clicking in the div and dragging up or down will cause it to scroll, the speed of which depends on the drag with the animation eventually slowing down to a stop.

does anyone have and example page? i have seen something like this before but can't find it.

many thanks,

matt.

Yes it would be easily done via jquery. Just go and see dragable class for it, because in fact this is just simple dragable effect with fixed axis that has overflow hidden around as a window for view :)

Well you could do that, but tell me how would you select stuff then ? Default behaviour is to select and if you override that user wont be able to do that!

first of all thanks for the reply. the second link was the one i originally found but lost.

i'm not bothered about losing the functionaility of the click as the info stored here will simply be text (although the example captures both so it does look possible if i need to)

however would i tbe possible to do this with jquery?

for example if i capture the onmousedown in the div and then capture the mouse movement and move the div using animate? do this sound viable?
