Backup Exec Alerts--Unable to read barcode

I have Backup Exec. 11d and I am receiving this error: The library was unable to read the barcode on a cartridge. How do I disable this alert or disable bar code reader?
I have checked to make certain that the bar code rules are turned off.  I have tried to run a catalog, scan, relabeled the tapes and I can not get this bar code reader to stop creating error messages. Any help would be appreciated.

    Accepted Solution

I'd get the tape library serviced. There could be dust or debris blocking the reader, or the reader itself has a hardware issue.
